By enabling this feature on the MyJio app, you will continue receiving important confirmation calls and OTPs from brands considered spam from some apps. However, you may still get unwanted spam calls and messages even after enabling this service, but the number will be less than it used to come on your device earlier.
How to Stop Spam Calls in Jio
To stop unwanted calls and SMS on Jio, users need to enable DND mode on their Jio network. The DND mode also allows users to set their preferences while enabling the feature. Users can fully block all promotional and service-related calls, except for OTPs and transaction confirmation messages. The app lets users set custom preferences to choose from categories like Education, Banking, Tourism, etc., and modes such as robocalls, SMS, voice calls, and live agent calls. Additionally, users can select the time, days, and dates on which they prefer to use the DND service.
Steps to Enable Do Not Disturb Mode in Jio
- Download and install the myJio app on your smartphone if you haven’t installed it yet.
- Launch the app, and sign in with your Jio Phone Number in which you want to Stop Spam Calls.
- Scroll down and you will see the Trending Now Section, tap on the Do Not Disturb option with the Silent Bell Icon.
- Now, select the option based on your need Fully Block to block all promotional & service, Promotional communication blocked, Custom preferences to choose specific categories, dates, times etc. options.
- After selecting the options, tap on the Save button to stop spam calls in Jio. A few minutes later you will also receive a text message from Jio that your DND service has been activated.
How to Stop Spam Calls in Jio Through SMS
- Launch the SMS app on your Device.
- Now, Type “START” and send it to 1909.
- Then, you will receive a list of options including categories and preferences you like to activate on your number.
- Reply with the code preferences and follow the instructions to activate DND on your Number
How to Disable Do Not Disturb Mode in Jio
In case you stop getting your important calls and SMS related to your work, transactions and other services, you can also disable do not disturb mode on your number. To disable DND follow the below steps.
- Launch the MyJio app on your device with the same number login.
- Scroll down to the Trending Now section and select the Do Not Disturb icon.
- Now, you will see your previously selected option, Disable it.
- then, scroll down and enable De-registration from DND to unblock all promotional calls/sms from your Jio Number.
- After completing all the toggles, tap on the Save option to confirm your changes.
- Done, you will receive a confirmation message from Jio that DND service has been deregistered from your Jio Number.
