Synology ActiveProtect Appliance – a next-gen Backup and Recovery solution
To handle increasing cyber threats and data management challenges, Synology has launched the ActiveProtect Appliance, a new backup and recovery system. This advanced solution offers faster backups, better protection against ransomware, and easy use, providing strong cybersecurity for modern businesses.
The ActiveProtect Appliance lineup includes three models – DP320, DP340 and DP7400.
DP320
The DP320 comes with two 8TB hard drives in a RAID 1 setup. This setup gives 8TB of safe storage with backup protection. It is powered by a 2.6GHz AMD R1600 dual-core processor and 8GB DDR4 RAM. It features 1 GbE and 10 GbE Ethernet ports for fast data transfer and easy network connection. The DP320 is compatible with most of the available systems, including VMware, Microsoft 365, Windows, macOS, Linux, Oracle, and SQL Server. The device features strong security features like air-gapped backups, immutability, and access control to guard against ransomware.
DP340
Synology DP340 is a reliable backup device made for businesses that need strong data protection. It comes with four 3.5″ SATA hard drives set up in RAID 5. The DP340 features an AMD R1600 processor and 16GB of DDR4 RAM. It has 1 GbE and 10 GbE Ethernet ports for fast data transfer and easy network connection. The device works with all systems, including VMware, Microsoft 365, Windows, macOS, Linux, Oracle, and SQL Server, making it suitable for different business needs. For security, the DP340 includes advanced features like air-gapped backups, immutability, and access control to protect against ransomware attacks.

DP7400 – 2U (RU) Big Enterprises Synology ActiveProtect Appliance
The Synology DP7400 comes with ten 20 TB hard drives in a RAID 6 setup with an extra spare drive, providing adequate safe storage for an enterprise. It also includes two 3.84 TB SSDs in RAID 1 for faster data access. The device powers by a 12-core AMD EPYC 7272 processor. It has 64GB of DDR4 RAM, which can be expanded up to 512 GB for smooth and reliable backup and recovery. For networking, it has one 1 GbE management port and two 10 GbE ports for fast data transfers. There are options to add more 10 GbE or 25 GbE ports if needed. The DP7400 is compatible with virtual machines, SaaS applications, databases, and physical servers. It also offers strong security against ransomware with features like immutability, air-gapped backups, and access control.
