India’s leading automotive manufacturer Tata has launched the DCA Automatic version of its premium hatchback Altroz ​​in India at a starting price of Rs 8.1 lakh. Altroz ​​is one of the best selling and safest cars in its segment with a five-star safety rating. It was launched in January 2020 in a manual version only. And now the company has offered it in the much-awaited dual-clutch automatic transmission specially designed for the Indian consumer. Also, it is the world’s first DCA (Dual-clutch auto transmission) with a planetary gear system. With the rise in demand for automatic vehicles, the Altroz ​​is likely to see a rise in sales with the launch of its Auto transmission.

The new 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox is available in petrol trims only. It generates power from a 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 86hp and 113Nm of peak torque. It is about 20 kg heavier than the manual variant. But it produces exactly the same kind of power that is in its manual model. However, the company has no plans to launch an auto transmission with the i-turbo engine model.

Except for the DCA badge on the tailgate, no exterior changes have been made to the automatic version of the Altroz. It uses Tata’s ALFA platform. Also, it is the safest car in this segment as it has got a 5-star rating on the NCAP test. The DCA transmission is available in five variants. XMA+, XTA, XZA, XZA(O) and XZA.+. Along with two dark editions – XZA+ Dark and XTA Dark Edition.

It offers black interiors with the sporty flat-bottom steering wheel, floating touchscreen, flat AC vents and asymmetric AC control panel. Coming to the features, the Tata ALTROZ DCA comes with all the advanced features. Like premium leather seats, auto headlamps, Harman 7-inch touchscreen, 8 speakers (4 tweeters + 4 speakers),  7-inch TFT digital cluster, rear AC vents, cruise control and IRA Connected Car Technology.

Coming to the colour options, Tata has introduced the Altroz ​​DCA transmission in the all-new Opera Blue colour. Apart from this, the Altroz ​​Automatic will also be available in Downtown Red, Arcade Grey, Avenue White and Harbor Blue colour options.
