Tata has finally launched the turbo variant of its premium hatchback ALTROZ in India.  The Tata Altroz iTurbo comes in three variants – XT, XZ and the new top-spec XZ+ variant. The company has also introduced a new Colour option in this car. Apart from this There are no changes in terms of exterior and interiors.

Tata ALTROZ was launched in India in January 2020 with 1.2L Naturally Aspirated petrol and 1.5L diesel engines. The 1.2L petrol engine was not liked by many enthusiast buyers due to its low-performance. To target, those users tata has introduced this engine in its premium hatchback. This is the same engine which also powers the Tata Nexon.  Tata Altroz ​​will now come in three engine options – 1.2L Naturally aspirated petrol, 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. The iTurbo variant will be available in higher trims only ie XT, XZ, XZ+.

Features and Interiors

Like the Regular Version, iTurbo also comes with black interiors with the sporty flat-bottom steering wheel, floating touchscreen, flat AC vents, asymmetric AC control panel and more. It packs all the features including Auto AC, Rear AC Vent, Harman Audio System, Rear AC Vent, 16 Inch Alloy, Cruise Control etc in the top variant.

Engine and GearBox

The Tata Altroz iTurbo is powered by a 1.2Litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 108 bhp at 5,500 rpm and a torque of 140 Nm at 5,500 rpm. This is the same engine that also powers the Tata Nexon. It comes in manual transmission only, as the company has not yet introduced the automatic transmission in this car.

Tata Altroz iTurbo Price in India

Tata Altroz ​​iTurbo launched in India with prices ranging between Rs 7.74-8.86 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Apart from the iTurbo launch, the company has also increased the prices of some variants by up to Rs 25,000. The new prices of Altroz 2021 are:

The Altroz ​​iTurbo competes with the Hyundai i20 Turbo and Volkswagen Polo GT TSI in the Indian market. However, the Polo and i20 have an advantage over the Altroz as both these cars come with an automatic transmission. Hyundai i20 comes with both clutchless iMT and CVT transmission. On the other hand, the Polo comes with both manual and automatic options.
