Design
The design of Tata Tigor Electric will be similar to the regular version of the car, except for a few cosmetic changes. There will be blue elements on the exterior of the EV version. It gets a close-off grille with a blue colour bottom line connecting to the headlights. The car also gets projector headlamps and bumper integrated DRLs. There are also blue accents on the alloy wheels to highlight its EV. Apart from this, it will also come in Tata’s EV-specific signature teal blue colour which we have already seen on the Nexon EV. On the interior, it has the same cabin as the standard Tigor with some blue accents on AC vents and on the dashboard.
Performance
The Tata Tigor EV 2021 comes with Ziptron technology which is one of its key features. It is the latest technology developed by Tata Motors and uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor. Tigor Electric will generate 55kW (74bhp power figure) and 170Nm of torque from this motor. The same technology also powers the Tata Nexon Ev which produces 127bhp of power and 245Nm of torque.
Tata claims that the new Tigor Electric can accelerate from 0-60 km/h in just 5.7 seconds. With these power and torque figures, many enthusiasts are considering this car as their first EV. Apart from this, it also gets an IP67-rated 26kWh high energy density lithium-ion battery. Tata is also giving an 8-year warranty on the battery and motor.
Tata Tigor EV Range and Battery
The Tigor EV comes with CCS2 fast-charging compatibility. Using this technology, a 26kWh high energy density lithium-ion battery takes 60 minutes to charge up to 80%. Whereas the regular 15 AMP home plug point socket can charge the car from 10% to 90% in 8.5 hours. It is the only compact electric sedan to have a futureproof IP67 certified battery that makes the delightful journey ahead. The company claims that this battery has been rigorously tested for over 1 million km, which is designed to operate in extreme ambient conditions. Tata is also giving a warranty of 1.6 lakh km on Tigor Electric. According to reports and testing, the Tata Tigor EV 2021 is likely to deliver at least 250km range on a fully charged battery.
Features
Coming to the features. Tigor Electric is loaded with features. It comes with a 7-inch Harman infotainment system with 8 speakers, auto climate control, reverse parking camera, digital instrument cluster, keyless entry and driving mode. It also gets the ZConnect (by iRA) app feature which includes 30+ connect features to learn about the health, safety and more of the car. Apart from this, safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, corner stability control, hill ascent assist and hill descent assist. For safety, the Tigo Electric also comes with a rear crash compatible structure.

Price and Launch Date in India
The company has planned to launch the Tata Tigor EV 2021 on 31 August 2021. Also, the bookings for the car have already started on the company’s official website. We can expect the price to be around Rs 12 lakh to Rs 14.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It will come in two variants and the top variant XZ+ will also come with a Dual Tone option as well.
