Redmi 8 Specifications and Features – After the launch of Redmi 8A, Xiaomi has finally launched its new Budget Segment Smartphone Redmi 8 in India at an event held in New Delhi. The Smartphone comes with Great Specifications and features at a value for money Pricing. It is the successor of Redmi 7 launched few Months ago. The device packs some new upgrades in terms of Processor, Camera and Battery.
The main highlights of the device are Snapdragon 439 Processor, Dual Rear Camera Setup and 5,000mAh Battery with Fast Charging Support. It features the Aura Design in Four colour options Sapphire Blue, Emerald Green, Ruby Red, and Onyx Black colours. The device also gets splash resistant coating and USB Type C port.

Coming to the Specifications and Features. Redmi 8 comes with 6.22 inches of HD+ IPS LCD Display with Pixel Resolution of 720X1520 pixels with Corning Gorilla Glass Protection. The display of the device features a Dot notch at the top just like its Predecessor. Redmi 7 As far as performance is concerned, it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 12nm processor with Adreno 505 GPU for Graphics performance.
Talking about the camera, Redmi 8 gets a Dual Camera Setup at the rear. With a 12MP Sony IMX363 Primary Camera sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP Secondary Sensor. At the front, there is an 8MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture and pixel size of 1.12μm for taking great selfies.
Heading towards the connectivity features, Redmi 8 comes with Dual Sim, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5, 3.5 mm headphone jack, WiFi 802.11 ac and GPS + GLONASS. It is powered by 5,000mAh massive battery which also supports 18W Fast charging.
Price and Availability
Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 8 at a Starting price of Rs. 7999 for the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage variant and Rs. 8,999 for the 4GB RAM+64GB storage variant. At the launch, Xiaomi also discloses that for the first five million units of 4GB+64GB variant will be available at Rs. 7,999. And the customers who will order a 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant will get the 4GB RAM variant. It will go on sale via Flipkart, mi.com and Mi Home Stores starting from October 12.
